Hi, my name is Joel, and this is my travel blog. I’ll be documenting some thoughts and impressions from my travel over the course of the next year here. I’m not exactly sure what the format or audience of this blog will be yet. As far as I can tell, the main audience is my future self, since I’m hoping this is a way I can be purposeful and consistent about recording things here. As a result, the content of this blog will probably cover a lot of random territory, ranging from the food I eat and the places I see, to personal thoughts on life.

I’m going to keep personal details to a minimum here, for some reasons I’ll dress in a later post. The relevant details that I will share, are that I’m from the United States, I grew up in Minnesota, and most recently have been a resident of Washington DC.
